Well, It is Thanksgiving already. It seems that this year has flown by. I find myself sitting here thinking of all the things in my life that I should be thankful for. Some of these things I see everyday and take them for granted, but when I really stop to think of how blessed I am, I feel sad for not realizing these things throughout the year. Why should one day of the year be set a side to be thankful. Is the world we live in to busy that be thankful for what we have. We all spend the whole year griping and whining and getting mad about the things that we don't have, or the things that we want and can't afford. I have tried to make a list of the things in life that I overlook. These are some of the things that I am thankful for:
I am thankful for my husband Nick. I love him with all my heart and my life is so much better with him in it. I am thankful for the simple yet meaningful things that he does for me. I am thankful that he tries to lift my spirits when I am having a rough day, even when he himself has had a bad day. I am thankful that when I don't feel well he will do anything within his means to make me feel better. I am thankful that when I have just had enough and can't take anymore, he loves me enough to give me the alone time I need to work things out in my head. I am thankful that he is a great lover. I am thankful that he is a great father. He is my rock, and without him I shall be washed away.
I am thankful for my son, Jackson who is the sparkle in my eyes and the flutter in my heart. I am thankful that he understands that I have health problems and I feel confident if something were to happen to me, he, at three years old could call and help. I am thankful that he chooses books over toys and TV. I am thankful that he comes home from pre-school and is so excited when he has colored or painted a picture for me. I am thankful that the best part of our days together are spent in my bed reading books. I am thankful for each and every time he says "I Love You Mommy". Without him there would be a void within.
I am thankful for my friends. They know who they are. I am thankful that they are there for me when I need them. I am thankful that they listen without judging. I am thankful that they are full of kind and gentle words in a time of need, and blunt and outspoken when the times call for it. My friends are the mold that holds my life together. Without them, I would not be me.
I am thankful for my parents. They brought me into this would with love, and have tried their hardest to love me for who I am. I know that I have issues that they don't get, or don't agree with, but I am still thankful that I have both parents alive and there for me in times of need.
I am thankful for my sister. She and I haven't always seen Eye to Eye, but we are in each others hearts at all time.
There is so much other things and people that I am thankful for, but it would take me all year to list them. To all the people that know me and are a part of my life, just know that I am thankful for having you touch my life, in even the most minuscule way.
