Hello everyone, I am published! In March or April I was having one of those days. Hmmm? I seem to have them a lot. LOL. Anyway I wrote a poem. I submitted it into a poetry contest online at poetry.com. Someone obviously read it, because it was chosen to be published in a book. They wanted to sell me a copy of they book for $30 but of course me, the queen of brokeness, didn't have the money to buy the book. Anyway this is my poem. I thought it would be nice to share. I am positive that some of you can relate.
Waste of Breath
I love the way you look at me.
Standing at the door. Waiting, Waiting, for the last word.
You know it is coming as it always does.
What will it be? Will a kind word slip through the crack of my lips.
Will a smile then emerge.
Will an insult leave you feeling blue, dark and hurt inside.
Today I do not say anything.
Because there are no last words.
Nothing is left to be said.
It is the end of all last words to you.
Just a waste of breath.
